Benjamin L. Aman is
a french sound & visual artist born in Rouen. Through different medias
: drawings, installations, recordings, writings, actions, Aman's work
finds its place in between different levels of perception, combining a
physical, a mental and an emotional approach. Using technics of collage,
constructions, space shifts, Aman creates ambiguous zones where reflexions
and life are organised, wanting to address himself to each visitor in
his intimate relationship with time and space. As a sound performer Aman
uses analog electronics, tapes, light, space, actions, static compositions
and overlapped plans, to place the audience in the middle of a suspended
or unstable construction.
Since 2005, BLA's work has been exhibited in numerous group exhibitions
(Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, CAC Nei Liicht Luxembourg, Selasar
Sunaryo Museum Bandung, Poirel Gallery Nancy) and solo ones (Styx Projects,
Projektwerkstatt in Leipzig). Since 2007, BLA has carried out many performances
and toured all over Europe. He was invited to festivals and radio shows
(Epsilonia in Paris, Le tétraèdre in Bruxelles, The Wire
on Air, Resonance FM in London...) and performed at the 10th Berlin Biennale,
Transmediale X, Club Transmediale (CTM), Nu Substance Indonesia. His works
appears on labels such as No-Fi, Recordings for the Summer and his own
Razzle Dazzle. Since
2009, he's a contributor for french trimestrial magazine Revue et
Corrigée. Upcoming solo exhibition and publication at Projektwerkstatt-Leipzig
